Gamblers edges Lumberjacks in playoff opener

The first appearance in the second round of the Clark Cup in over a decade went well as they beat the Muskegon Lumberjacks 4-3.

The two teams scored in every period, with the Gamblers' second first-period goal proving to be the difference. Jayson Shaugabay scored two goals, while Charlie Russell and Blake Bechen each registered a goal and an assist. Ryan Humphrey recorded two assists.

Gavin Moffatt stopped 26 of the 29 shots.

The Gamblers and the Lumberjacks meet again on Sunday at 2:10 p.m.
