Gamblers bounce back in front of home fans

Less than 24 hours after a 6-2 loss to the Dubuque Fighting Saints, the Green Bay Gamblers held on to beat the Cedar Rapids Roughriders 3-2.

The Gamblers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first two periods thanks to an opening frame goal by Michael DeAngelo and two more tallies in the second by Julian Lutz. The Roughriders challenged Gavin Moffatt in the third period with 11 shots, two of which were able to find the back of the net. Moffatt was able to stand tall in the final minutes to finish the game with 32 saves.

The night before, the Fighting Saints outshot the Gamblers 40-20 as they peppered the Gamblers' Adam Gajan all night long, forcing him to make 34 saves on 40 shots. Libor Nemec's second-period goal and Blake Bechen's tally in the third period were the lone bright spots for the Gamblers in the contest.

The Gamblers will spend the Easter weekend with games against the Chicago Steel on Friday at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday at 6:05 p.m.
