Phoenix women bounce back against IUPUI

The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team got off the mat after its first Horizon League loss of the season on Saturday with a resounding 87-59 win over IUPUI on Wednesday.

The Phoenix did their part to put the Jaguars away early, outscoring their hosts 32-10 in the first quarter. Even as their hot start cooled, they could extend their lead by as much as 31 points in the game's final frame.

Four Phoenix players reached double figures, including a pair of double-doubles posted by Jasmine Kondrakiewicz (21 points, 13 rebounds) and Maddy Schreiber (13 points, 11 rebounds). Tahlia Walton led all scorers with 22 points in the loss for the Jaguars.

Green Bay basketball action continues Thursday when the men host Oakland in a battle for first place in the Horizon League. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
