Green Bay basketball teams look for reset after winning streaks halted

The Green Bay Packers weren't the only Titletown-based teams to lose on Saturday, as both the Phoenix men's and women's basketball teams suffered defeats.

In Oakland, the Phoenix women lost a shootout to the Golden Grizzlies 83-81. The second quarter proved fatal for the Phoenix, which were outscored 27-13 by the Golden Grizzlies. The Phoenix chipped away at the deficit throughout the game but went cold at the line in the closing minutes to lose the game. Natalie McNeal scored a career-high 24 points in the loss, while Maddy Schreiber chipped in 16 points, and Bailey Butler added a dozen more. The Phoenix were thwarted by Oakland's Brooke Quarles-Daniels and Kennedie Montue, who scored 27 points and 23 points, respectively.

The Phoenix men fell behind early and never could catch up in a 72-55 loss to Northern Kentucky on Saturday. Elijah Jones led the Phoenix with 11 points while Marcus Hall tallied seven points. THe Norse held down Noah Reynolds for much of the game, allowing him to score just nine points.
