The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team will open their home slate on Saturday afternoon with a matchup against Illinois State.

In Cedar Falls on Monday, the Phoenix saw their nine-point first-quarter lead disappear quickly in the second quarter as they lost to Northern Iowa 78-67. The Panthers outscored the Phoenix 25-11 in the second quarter and put them away for good in the fourth quarter. Natalie McNeal scored 14 points to lead the Phoenix, with Jenna Guyer chipping in 10. 

The Redbirds' offense is firing on all cylinders, scoring more than 90 points in their exhibition against Illinois Wesleyan (94-56) and its regular season opener against Omaha (105-59). DeAnna Wilson scored more than 20 points in both contests for the defending Missouri Valley Conference champions.
