Final countdown to Fall 50 begins

Hundreds of runners will run the length of the peninsula this Saturday for the annual Fall 50 Race.

While many runners will tackle the 50-mile course as a part of a relay, dozens will run the course in its entirety. All solo runners will begin at 6:30 a.m. to afford them the maximum amount of daylight possible to complete the event, while the relay teams will start at 7:30 a.m., 8:20 a.m., 9:10 a.m., and 10:00 a.m., depending on how fast they are.

The course will be open to vehicular traffic, so runners and motorists must pay attention to each other to ensure safety. You can see a map of the course by clicking this link.

You can also contact the race for the number of volunteer opportunities that are still needed to be filled before Saturday's race.
