Bays blitz Indians late on 105.1 The GOAT

The Sister Bay Bays shutout the Egg Harbor Indians 7-0 at home Sunday afternoon in Door County Baseball League action.

After being held to a single hit by Indian’s starting pitcher Alex Byrne over five innings, the Bay rallied for two runs and four hits in the sixth inning to take the lead they would not relinquish.

The Bays then erupted for five runs on four hits in the seventh inning, including a two-run single by Sam Forkert, to pull away.

Forkert, who was the starting pitcher for Sister Bay, allowed only four hits over six innings to pick up the win, with Matt Hecht coming on to pitch the final three innings to pick up the save and secure the shutout.

The Bays’ offense was led by Forkert who ended up with three hits and three runs batted in, while Spencer Krause and Sawyer Johnson each had two hits and scored two runs.  Cody Gieseman and Joe Sawyer paced the Indians with two hits each.

The next broadcast of Door County Baseball League action on 105.1 The GOAT will be Friday night as the Institute Cubs host the Bays.  Pregame starts at 7 pm with first pitch at 7:30 pm.
