Packers denied NFL Draft hosting duties

You will not see the Titletown District turn into NFL Draft City USA anytime soon.

League officials announced on Monday that the City of Green Bay would not be hosting the 2024 NFL Draft, instead handing the duties to Detroit. The Packers and the city had been previously mentioned as potentially a host for the event.

"The Packers and the event's community supporters remain optimistic that Green Bay will have the opportunity to host the NFL Draft in the near future," said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. "We will continue to work with Discover Green Bay and our other partners in the effort to update our bid details and continue our dialogue with NFL officials so they remain excited about our community's plan to host this significant event. The NFL Draft would draw fans to the area from around the country and proudly display the NFL's storied history to football fans around the world, while highlighting the uniqueness of Green Bay."

The announcement was made on the first day of the NFL meetings in Florida. Brian Gutekunst met with the media where he discussed the likelihood of the Davante Adams saga ending in a trade, the likelihood of Jaire Alexander becoming a do-it-all corner, and their recent signings.
