Gamblers split their final two games in Youngstown

The Green Bay Gamblers were able to find some success at the end of their three-game stint in Youngstown last weekend.

After falling 6-5 on Friday, the Gamblers lost their Saturday night matchup 2-0 in a low shooting affair. The Gamblers had just 20 shots on goal while the Phantoms registered single tallies in the first and second periods. Aaron Randazzo got back on track as he stopped 20 of the 22 shots he faced.

In a Sunday afternoon matinee, it was the Gamblers that came away with the 4-3 victory after seven rounds of a shootout. A second-period Cameron Lund goal was all that had occurred in the first 40 minutes of play, giving the Gamblers a slim 1-0 lead. Chaos took over in the third as the two teams combined for five goals. Alex Servagno and Matt Deboer staked the Gamblers to a 3-1 lead with 14 minutes to go. The Phantoms would score twice in the final three minutes of action, including one with just six seconds on the clock. Dominik Bartecko scored the only goal in the shootout to give the Gamblers the win. Randazzo stopped 29 of 32 shots in the game and saved all seven shootout attempts by the Phantoms.
