MLB season pushed out to at least April 14th

An opening day matchup at American Family Field against the St. Louis Cardinals is the best-case scenario for Milwaukee Brewers fans after MLB and players' association officials failed to come to a deal on Wednesday.

Both sides issued dueling press releases with each blaming the other for a deal not coming together. ESPN's Jesse Rogers points to the international draft as a big reason why this round of negotiations failed on Wednesday. He also reported that the two sides have gotten a little closer on previous issues like the competitive balance tax and the pre-arbitration pool.

The Green Bay Rockers open their season at the end of May. Two of their fellow Northwoods League opponents, the Bismarck Larks and the Kalamazoo Growlers, have banned MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred until further notice.
