Badgers lose Davis, forced to share Big Ten title

The Wisconsin Badgers' 74-73 loss to Nebraska may be worse than your usual addition to the right column of standings.

Star player Johnny Davis got tangled up with the Cornhuskers' Trey McGowens with 17 minutes left in the game. While McGowens was ejected, Davis did not return to the bench and the Wisconsin State Journal reported that he left the Kohl Center on Sunday in a walking boot. Head coach Greg Gard is still hopeful Davis will be able to play in this week's Big Ten Tournament. The Badgers still led for much of the game before the Cornhuskers climbed all the way back and took the lead at the end while holding their hosts scoreless from the field for the final 5:48. Brad Davison led the Badgers with 20 points in his Kohl Center swan song.

The loss also means the Badgers will have to share the Big Ten title with Illinois, who beat Iowa Sunday 74-72 and with that grabbed the conference tournament's top seed.
