The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team led almost the entire game on Monday until the Milwaukee Panthers went on a late run to win the game 50-48.
The Phoenix held a 29-16 lead at halftime, but it was the Panthers who chipped away at the lead in the third quarter before taking the lead thanks to a 17-7 advantage in the fourth quarter. The Panthers held the Phoenix scoreless over the final 4:52 to steal the game away and effectively ruin any hopes of a regular-season Horizon League Championship from Green Bay.
Meghan Pingel led the Phoenix with nine points while Maddy Schreiber and Cassie Schiltz each chipped in seven.
