Phoenix women kick off weekend full of Green Bay basketball

Four days of Green Bay basketball at the Kress Events Center kicks of Thursday when the Phoenix women play UIC for the final time as Horizon League foes.

The Phoenix have won their last eight games, which is the longest winning streak they have had in five years. They came back to beat a tough Oakland team on Thursday before handling Detroit Mercy Saturday afternoon. The Flames have not won a game since December 4th including a pair of narrow defeats last weekend. Luxemburg-Casco alum Cassie Schiltz lead the Phoenix with 15 points when the Phoenix beat the Flames 75-38 earlier this season in Chicago, their 73rd win over the soon-to-be Missouri Valley Conference team in 79 tries.

The opening tip is set for 7:05 p.m.

The women will play again on Saturday while the men will host their final home games on Friday and Sunday.
