The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team's shooting went as cold as the weather did in the second half Wednesday, leading to its 63-49 loss against rival Milwaukee.
Both teams struggled offensively early on with the game tied at only 33-33 three minutes into the second half. Milwaukee put the clamps down over the next several minutes, outscoring the Phoenix 16-1 in that span to effectively put the game away. The Phoenix could get no closer than nine points in the last 10 minutes of the game, even with getting 22 points from freshman Kamari McGee and a double-double from Japannah Kellogg III, who registered 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Phoenix are scheduled to play a pair of games in the Detroit metro area this weekend beginning with Oakland on Friday.
The Phoenix women are also on the road this weekend beginning with a matchup against IUPUI at 6 p.m. Thursday.
