A record crowd of 18,755 watched the Wisconsin Badgers win their first-ever national championship in NCAA volleyball at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The Badgers won the five-set match (22-25, 31-29, 25-23, 23-25, 15-12) over the Nebraska Cornhuskers with fifth-year senior Dana Rettke’s kill at the net for the deciding point. The Badgers dominated at the net with 24 blocks and overcame a gritty performance by Nebraska. Having four players with double-digit kills, Wisconsin jumped to a 7-0 lead in the fifth set and hung on for the 2021 volleyball championship.
