Third quarter flips script in Packers' victory over Bears

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers' offense had to overcome its own poor special teams play and an inspired Chicago Bears team in its 45-30 victory Sunday night.

The Bears jumped out to a 10-0 lead thanks to two impressive drives from Justin Fields and company before the Packers could finally get on the scoreboard with an Aaron Rodgers touchdown pass to Allen Lazard to make it 10-7. The Packers would take a 14-10 lead when Rasul Douglas took a Fields' pass to the endzone from 55 yards out. Fields would show to have a short memory when he connected with Damiere Byrd on a 54-yard slant pattern to help the Bears retake the lead. The Bears would regain their 10 point margin just two minutes later when Jakeem Grant took a punt 97 yards to the endzone. It was too much time for Rodgers as he was able to lead the Packers on a drive that ended with Davante Adams scoring from 38 yards out. Cairo Santos closed out the half and the scoring for the Bears with a 44-yard field goal.

It was all Packers after that as they went on to outscore the Bears 24-3 in the second half. Aaron Jones helped the Packers take the lead with a three-yard touchdown run and a 23-yard catch for a score after the defense forced a Fields fumble. Crosby would end the quarter of scoring for the Packers with a 20-yard field goal. Rodgers would set the team record for most touchdown passes against the Bears when he found Adams for his fourth score of the game and his 61st against Chicago. The Bears had some life after that as Santos made it a two-score game with Santos kicking a field goal and the special teams recovering a muffed onside kick. Fields would end the threat with an interception that would send Kurt Benkert out to perform victory formation duties for the Packers.

The win gave Rodgers 23 victories over the Bears, the most in franchise history. The Packers will play the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at 3:25 p.m.
