Special teams miscues cost Packers versus Chiefs

The Green Bay Packers' defense showed up and Jordan Love played as expected, but it was the special teams that ultimately let down the team in its loss to Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

The Chiefs struck first with a first-quarter touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce with just under six minutes remaining. The Packers' defense stood tall after that 59-yard drive, only letting up a pair of field goals after that and allowed 247 yards total. That is the least amount of yards the Chiefs have gained with Mahomes under center.

The Packers' special teams were not special on Sunday, allowing one field goal to sail wide of the mark and another kick to get blocked. A muffed punt gave the Chiefs great field position in the second quarter, but the defense was able to limit the damage after the miscue.
