As local football and volleyball teams wrap up their seasons this month, some sports start as soon as next week.

Monday marks the first day the area's girls basketball teams can officially hit the practice floor. Kewaunee finished last season undefeated in the Packerland Conference. Wrestling, boys' basketball, and boys' swimming can start the following week.

Athletic code meetings are already in progress at local school districts, which are required before athletes can begin their seasons.
