The Green Bay Packers defense finally came up big in the red zone during Sunday's 24-10 over the Washington Football Team at Lambeau Field.

 

The Packers were able to turn away four trips to the red zone for Washington, giving up only a field goal. They had allowed their opponents to score touchdowns on their previous 15 trips. 

 

Davante Adams got the scoring going for the Packers right away in the first quarter on a 17-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers only to be matched minutes later when Taylor Heinicke lofted a prayer and was answered by wide receiver Terry McLaurin 40 yards later to make it 7-7 at the end of one quarter.

 

The Packers would score 17 unanswered points thanks to touchdown passes to Allen Lazard and Robert Tonyan and a field goal made by Mason Crosby. Washington could only muster a single field goal in the second half thanks in part to some timely plays by Rashan Gary, Dean Lowry, and Chandon Sullivan. 

 

The Packers will have a short week as they travel to the desert on Thursday to face the undefeated Arizona Cardinals.
