Tellez homer gives Brewers series lead

A folk hero in the making gave the Milwaukee Brewers a 2-1 win and 1-0 series lead over its city's former suitors the Atlanta Braves.

Corbin Burnes sparkled through his six innings of work, striking out six and limiting the Braves to just two hits and no runs. Charlie Morton was well on his way to matching Burnes with six innings of solid work and striking out. It was Morton however that served up the two-run blast by Rowdy Tellez in the seventh inning that proved to be just enough for the Brewers. The Braves would scratch across a run in the eighth, but Josh Hader was able to close the door in the ninth to earn the save.

The Brewers and Braves are back at it Saturday at 5:07 p.m.
