Swept in L.A., Brewers look ahead to NLDS

The Milwaukee Brewers will get a chance to rest for a few days after a rough final week of the season including a 10-3 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Facing a Dodgers team with plenty to play for entering Sunday, the Brewers utilized eight pitchers and most of their bench players in the loss. Avisail Garcia did get things going for the Brewers with an RBI double in the fourth inning. It was the fifth inning that doomed the Brewers when the Dodgers scored six runs including a grand slam by Trea Turner. Matt Beaty's RBI single gave the Dodgers an insurance run in the bottom of sixth. The Brewers would add a pair in the eighth when Rowdy Tellez and Eduardo Escobar hit RBI doubles in the eighth inning, only to have it erased in the bottom half of the inning on a two-run homer by Beaty.

The Brewers will welcome the Atlanta Braves for game one of the NLDS on Friday. The Braves will send Charlie Morton to the mound against an undetermined starter for the Brewers.
