The Milwaukee Brewers inched closer to clinching an NL Central title with a 2-1 victory over the New York Mets on Saturday. The win also came on a special day, as the Brewers honored longtime radio broadcaster Bob Uecker, who’s 87 years old, and has spent 50 years in the booth. 

In the bottom of the third inning, Eduardo Escobar hit a line drive single to left field that scored Willy Adames and Avisail Garcia and put the Brewers up 2-0. The next half-inning, the Mets scored a run to tighten the lead but no scoring occurred after that from either team. Brewers pitcher Corbin Burnes had nine strikeouts through seven innings, and earned the win on the mound.

The Brewers and Mets square off again on Sunday. The game will begin at 1:10 PM in Milwaukee. The Brewers are 93-62 so far this season and can clinch an NL Central Division victory with a win.
