Gamblers open exhibition schedule Friday

The road to a fifth Clark Cup begins on Friday night as the Green Bay Gamblers get set to play a pair against the Dubuque FIghting Saints.

 

The Green Bay Gamblers opened training camp on Wednesday (9/1) with 29 players from the United States, Canada, and Europe reporting.  Along with daily on-ice practices and off-ice evaluations, Gamblers will play four exhibition games, two versus Dubuque (9/10 & (9/11) and two versus Madison (9/17 & 9/18). The Gamblers will cut down to 25 players prior to the USHL Fall Classic in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, September 23 & 24.

 

The roster features 15 players who appeared in 10 or more USHL games last season.  Veterans include forwards Ryan Greene, Alex Servagno, John Mittelstadt, Jackson Hallum, Matt DeBoer, Sawyer Scholl, Luke Weilandt, Greg Spitznagel, defensemen Damien Carfagna, Owen Murray, Jarod Crespo, Ethan Straky, Tyler DesRochers and goaltender Aaron Randazzo. 

 

Players on the roster who have seen limited action in the USHL include forwards Brody Lamb, Cam VanSickle, Cameron Lund and defenseman Drew Tsakounis.

 

Newcomers hoping to make an immediate impact include forwards Dominick Rivelli, Nicholas VanTassell, Dominik Bartecko, Tim Delay, Juraj Elias, defensemen Kent Anderson, Will Staring, Tyler Pfister, Ross Roloson and goaltenders Rastislav Elias and Klayton Knapp.

 

Friday's exhibition at the Resch Center is free to the general public with the puck drop at 7:05 p.m.
