Brewers clinch series win over Nats

The Milwaukee Brewers once again got great pitching and timely hitting to take the rubber match from the Washington Nationals in a 7-3 victory.

Kolten Wong was responsible for four of the Brewers' first five runs thanks to a solo homer in the first inning and a two-RBI triple in the fourth inning. He would later score in the fourth inning thanks to a throwing error by Josh Bell, which also brought in Manny Pina. Lorenzo Cain made 7-1 with a two-run homer in the seventh inning.

Sunday's game was a bullpen game for Craig Counsell's Brewers with six pitchers getting work. Adrian Houser went just over three innings, allowing a lone run on three hits. After Hoby Milner started to falter in the ninth inning after trying to go two innings, Josh Hader came in to nail down his 26th save of the season.

The Brewers are off on Monday before they play the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday.
