First full Lambeau crowd expected for preseason opener

The gameday atmosphere will look much different in Saturday’s preseason opener at Lambeau Field than it did in 2020. The Packers will face off with the Houston Texans at 7:00 PM, welcoming back a full game crowd for the first time since the 2019-2020 divisional round playoff. Many eyes will be on second-year quarterback and the 2020 NFL draft’s 26th pick Jordan Love, who will take his first NFL game snap as he’s expected to start and play a significant chunk of the game. Head Coach Matt Lafleur mentioned this week that he doesn’t expect Aaron Rodgers to suit up for any preseason action and that a considerable amount of key players will be sidelined for Saturday’s game in order to preserve their bodies. It will also be the first preseason game for the Packers since 2019, as last year’s exhibition games were canceled.
