Phoenix women's soccer wins first preseason game

The wait is over for college athletics at UW-Green Bay after the Phoenix's women's soccer team played an exhibition Saturday night under stormy skies.

The Phoenix beat Viterbo 4-1 across three 30-minute periods. Grace Miller, Savannah Hayes, and Anna María Björnsdóttir all were credited with goals in the contest.

Green Bay hosts Cardinal Stritch next Thursday, August 12 at 4 p.m. before opening its regular season against St. Thomas on August 19th.

The men's soccer team will not be in action until August 14th when they travel to Chicago to face Loyola.
