Straky commits to Colorado College

The Green Bay Gamblers announced on Monday that incoming defenseman Ethan Straky has committed to Colorado College.  The Gamblers selected Straky in the 1st round of the 2021 USHL Entry Draft.  Straky will begin his collegiate career in the fall of 2022.

 

Last season, Straky suited up for the United States National Team Development Program U18.  The Walnut Creek, California native appeared in 50 games for the red, white, and blue, tallying 16 points (2 goals & 14 assists).  Straky appeared in five games at the 2021 World Junior Championships, notching a goal.

 

Straky is the 19th player on the 2021-22 roster to commit to a NCAA Division 1 institution. Others include, Kent Anderson (Denver), Damien Carfagna (New Hampshire), Jared Crespo (Penn State), Matt DeBoer (Holy Cross), Tim Delay (Boston College), Tyler DesRochers (Providence), Ryan Greene (Boston University), Jackson Hallum (Michigan), Brody Lamb (Minnesota), Cameron Lund (Northeastern), John Mittlestadt (Minnesota), Owen Murray (UMASS-Amherst), Aaron Randazzo (Air Force), Dominick Rivelli (Miami of Ohio), Sawyer Scholl (Wisconsin), Alexander Servagno (Ohio State), Cam VanSickle (Denver), and Luke Weilandt (Merrimack).

 

The Gamblers home opener is Saturday, October 2.
