"Goats" comeback falls short

The Green Bay "Goats" scored twice in the bottom of eighth but could do no more against the Madison Mallards in a 3-2 loss at Capital Credit Union Park.

The Booyah played under their Sunday moniker and held the Mallards in check for most of the game thanks to a strong performance from pitcher Mykel Page. The Mallards would open the scoring in the sixth inning when Joe Hauser opened the frame with a solo shot and JT Benson drove in two runs with a homer of his own. The Booyah would scratch across their runs in the bottom of eighth thanks to a sacrifice fly from Nathan Blasick and an RBI single from Nadir Lewis. The Booyah still had two aboard in the inning before the Mallards were able to end the threat with the groundout. The Booyah saw four pitches in the bottom of the ninth with leadoff batter Jack Duffy getting on board with a single.

The game was played in a speedy 2:24 thanks to Page (6IP, 5H 3ER, 4K) and Mallards pitcher Justin Medlin (7IP, 4 H 0 ER, 10K).
