The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers used the back half of their game on Tuesday to gain a comfortable lead en route to a 6-1 victory over the Peoria Chiefs. The game marked the first of a six game series in Peoria. The Timber Rattlers started the scoring in the top of the fourth inning with an RBI double from Hayden Cantrelle. After four complete, the game was tied at 1 before the Rattlers would take off.
Nick Kahle got a single that scored two runners in the top of the fifth inning to make the score 3-1. The Rattlers scored two more the following inning, as Joe Gray Jr. scored on a walk and Yeison Coca hit an RBI single to make the score 5-1. In the top of the ninth, Je’von Ward grounded out into a fielder’s choice, in which Hayden Cantrelle came across the plate. With the win the T-Rats are now 29-31 overall this season and play the Chiefs again on Wednesday, with the first pitch being thrown at 6:35 PM.
