For the first time in almost a half-century, the Milwaukee Bucks will be in the NBA Championship series. After beating the Atlanta Hawks 118-107 in game six of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, Milwaukee will face the Phoenix Suns in the NBA title series. The last time the Bucks were in the finals was 1974, and they lost to Boston in seven games. For the Suns, it’s their first trip to the finals series since the 1992-1993 season. 

The Bucks were able to accomplish the feat without having to rush superstar Giannis Anteotkounmpo back from his knee injury before the series was over. Though there’s no set timetable for his return, there is still hope that he will get to suit up for at least some finals action. The Bucks also avoided a late scare, as their twenty-point second half lead diminished to just six at one point. 

In Antetokounmpo’s absence, Milwaukee was led by Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton. Holiday wasn’t far from a triple double, going for 27 points, 9 assists and 9 rebounds. Khris Middleton put 32 points through the basket. Milwaukee plays Phoenix on Tuesday on the road with tip-off beginning at 8:00 PM.
