The Green Bay Blizzard scored two touchdowns in the final two minutes to sneak out of the Resch Center with a victory in one of its first games back in action, beating the Massachusetts Pirates 40-36.
The Blizzard only managed a field goal in the first quarter was down 7-3 before Trevo Saunders opened the second period up with a 41-yard touchdown return. The Blizzard was also able to score seven points in the final 30 seconds without a touchdown thanks to a pair of field goals, a safety, and rouge kickoff. A 27-14 lead early in the third quarter turned into a 36-27 deficit thanks to five consecutive scores by the Pirates. The Blizzard scored their final touchdowns thanks to the arm of Daimion May, who took a busted play and found Kezlow Smith for the game-winner.
The Blizzard are back in action on Friday when they play the Louisville Extreme at the Resch Center at 7:05 p.m.
