Gamblers begin three-game stretch in Chicago

The Green Bay Gamblers will begin another busy weekend on Friday night when they travel to Geneva to take on the Chicago Steel.

After starting last week with a win, the Gamblers struggled without star defensemen Mason Lohrei, whose elbowing call not only landed him in the penalty box that night but took him out of the line-up for three games. The Gamblers went 0-2-1 in the three games over the weekend. Gamblers head coach Pat Mikesch says it is hard to play without one of your best players in the line-up.

The Gamblers remain 11 points behind in the standings against a high-powered Steel team which has scored 213 goals so far this year. Mikesch liked how they played last time out that saw them get the victory.

The puck drops Friday night in Geneva at 7:05 p.m. The Gamblers return home for a pair of games over the weekend. Both of those games will air on 104.1 WRLU and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com
