Brewers find late inning surge

Friday’s game opened up appearing to be a blowout loss for the Brewers against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The D-Backs opened up the first inning with three runs, all coming on a Christian Walker home run. Milwaukee would answer with a run on a solo homer by Kolten Wong. Scoring would stall until the bottom of the sixth when the Brewers’ Billy McKinney would cut the lead to 3-2 on an empty base home run.

The Brewers had an explosive eighth inning that would decide the game. Things would snowball for Arizona after Luis Urias would score on a wild pitch. Billy McKinney would drive his second home run of the day with two runners on base. The three run shot would be his fourth of Spring Training, and the Brewers would take a 6-3 lead. A pick-off error at third base by Arizona’s Taylor Guilbeau would bring in a run by Corey Ray. Dustin Brewers would add another run on a wild pitch by Guilbeau. Zach Green would put the final run into the seven-run inning. The Brewers would put out the Diamondbacks in the ninth and win the game 9-3. Milwaukee’s Brent Suter would be awarded the win on the mound.

The Brewers move to 9-8 in the exhibition season as the Diamondbacks fall to 7-10. Milwaukee will face the Cincinnati Reds in an evening affair. The game is set for 8:05 P.M.
