Badgers bounce Tarheels

After backpedaling into the NCAA Tournament, the ninth-seeded Wisconsin Men’s Basketball team turned heads after a round one stomping of the eighth seeded North Carolina Tarheels. The Badgers would have a late first half run on their way to a 40-24 halftime lead. Wisconsin would only let their lead shrink to twelve points with over twelve minutes to go in the second half. They would then take back momentum and ride to an 85-62 win. This was UNC Head  Coach Roy Williams first ever first round loss as a head coach. Williams was 29-0 until Friday’s game in first round tournament games.

The Badgers leaned on experience with seniors Brad Davison cashing in 29 points and D’Mitrik Trice pitching in 21 of his own. The Badgers’ record is 18-12 this season. As they survive and advance many eyes will be on the Badgers as they face a top seeded Baylor squad. The Bears come into Sunday’s matchup with a record of 23-2. Tip-off time is TBD.
