Josh Hader struggled in his Spring debut in Wednesday’s 9-1 loss to the Oakland Athletics. Though Hader recorded two strike-outs, he did give up two home runs, one to Austin Allen and another to Ramon Laureano. Hader also pitched a walk in the two-thirds of an inning he threw. This was to set off a four-run third inning that broke a 1-1 tie. The A’s also mustered three runs in the fourth inning and another in the fifth. The game lasted just six and a half innings. Milwaukee managed to get just four hits with the lone run on a first-inning blast from Travis Shaw.
With the loss, Milwaukee’s record is now 6-4. Oakland improves to 4-5 with the victory. The Brewers will take on the Kansas City Royals on Thursday, with the first pitch scheduled for 2:10 P.M. CST.
