Marquette Men's Basketball trounced by Georgetown, Badgers play Thursday

The Marquette Golden Eagles men’s hoops season came to a close Wednesday unceremoniously. Marquette lost to Georgetown in the first round of the Big East Tournament. The game was the Hoyas the whole way en route to a 68-49 victory. The Golden Eagles came into the game as the Big East Tournament’s ninth seed. As their season ends with a 13-15 record, the eighth-seeded Georgetown team will take on top-seeded Villanova in the quarterfinals on Thursday at noon. 

 

Wisconsin received the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament’s six seed and will be taking on Penn State in the opening round on Thursday. The Badgers split with the Nittany Lions in the regular season, dropping the first game 81-71 and winning the second matchup 72-56. The Badgers come into the contest with a record of 16-11. Penn State comes into the game with a record of 11-13 and is the tournament’s eleventh seed. Tip-off from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis is scheduled for 8:00 P.M.
