The UWGB Phoenix mens’ basketball team will tip-off conference play at home this weekend in a pair of games with the Milwaukee Panthers.
History shows a 40-26 record in favor of Green Bay in the all-time matchup series and the Phoenix have seen a recent dominant track record with 10 wins in the last 13 games played between the two programs. The Phoenix return only two players who had Horizon League game experience from a year ago in starters PJ Pipes and Horizon League Freshman of the Year Amari Davis. Josh Jefferson and Pipes each average 14.8 points per game (ppg) while Davis trails with an average of 13.3 ppg. The Panthers enter this matchup at 1-1 in their non-league play and are led by DeAndre Gholston who averages 14 ppg. Green Bay will play the in-state conference rival Panthers on Saturday and Sunday for a 1pm time slot each day.
