Milwaukee, Giannis reach 5-year supermax extension

The Milwaukee Bucks organization and back-to-back NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo reached a 5-year supermax contract extension today. Antetokounmpo took the announcement to Twitter this afternoon: “ This is my home, this is my city. I’m blessed to be able to be a part of the Milwaukee Bucks for the next 5 years. Let’s make these years count. The show goes on, let’s get it.” According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the deal holds a $228 million-dollar value for 5 years and includes an opt out after the fourth year. This supermax extension qualifies as the largest deal in NBA history.
