The Marquette Golden Eagles mens’ basketball team faced their first bump in the road on Tuesday night falling short to the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 70-62. The Big East vs. Big 12 battle was run by the highly rated Cowboys’ freshman class that imposed a zone defense on the Marquette offense causing 24 turnovers. Prior to the Golden Eagles’ offensive collapse, they led the game going into halftime, 35-32. Koby McEwen led Marquette with 21 points while Jamal Cain posted a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Oklahoma didn’t allow Marquette to score over 16 points in the first 16 minutes of the second half. Marquette moved to 2-1 on the season after the defeat and will face the fourth ranked Wisconsin Badgers on Friday.
