Packers land veteran receiver

The Green Bay Packers have signed eight year NFL veteran receiver Tavon Austin. Austin comes into the Packers organization after spending time with the Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams. The 2013 draft pick was selected in the first round by the Rams and spent five seasons with Los Angeles before departing in the 2017 offseason. According to an NFL Network source the 29 year-old receiver officially signed on Monday evening with Green Bay and passed all of his required COVID-19 testing in the process. The Journal Sentinel reported late last week that Austin was in town for a tryout with the Packers. Green Bay felt as if Austin would contribute multiple ways, especially in the special teams return game. Head coach Matt LaFleur coached Austin in 2017 when he was the offensive coordinator for the Rams.
