Gamblers postpone two more games

The Green Bay Gamblers will miss its next two games against Team USA this week due to COVID-19 protocols.

During his weekly podcast with the NEW Radio Sports Network, head coach and general manager Pat Mikesch says the team will quarantine this week because of a number of positive tests and close contacts on the roster. It was part of the reason why Team USA doctors did not sign off on the team traveling to Green Bay for its Friday night matchup last week. The extra days off from games allowed the team to start their quarantine earlier. Mikesch says some players could resume in-person activities in small groups as soon as next Monday. Mikesch explains what the next week will look like for his team.

Mikesch says about half the teams in the USHL have dealt with missing games due to COVID-19 protocols. If all goes well, the Gamblers will return to game action next weekend when they travel to Iowa to face Waterloo on Friday and Des Moines. The Gamblers will return home that following Tuesday night to face another Iowa-based team, the Dubuque Fighting Saints, for a 7:05 p.m. puck drop. That game will air on 104.1 WRLU and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com.
