Brewers promote internally

The Milwaukee Brewers announced yesterday that they have an internal promotion in the front office management staff.

Matt Arnold, senior vice president and general manager of the Brewers, previously held the senior vice president and assistant general manager position. The announcement came yesterday directly from president of baseball operations, David Stearns. In addition to Stearns announcing Arnold's new role: “For the past five years, Matt has served an invaluable role in helping to guide our baseball operations group. He has contributed to every significant decision we have made and has offered indispensable advice and support throughout his time with the Brewers. Today’s announcement formalizes how we have operated over the last few years. This move provides Matt with the deserved recognition of his tireless work and ensures that our baseball operations leadership group remains intact.” Throughout Arnold's time, Milwaukee ranks in the National League's top five for win percentage. Before arriving in Milwaukee, Arnold spent seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Cincinnati Reds and Tampa Bay Rays, which he was a part of the Rays' first World Series appearance.
