Gamblers post second straight comeback win over Phantoms

For the second time in three nights, the Green Bay Gamblers turned adversity into a win, beating the Youngstown Phantoms Saturday night 5-4.

Kyler Grundy and Ryan Greene were able to tie the game up late in the first period, but the Gamblers would still find themselves down 3-2 entering the intermission thanks to a last-second goal by the Phantoms' Reilly Funk. Jake Schmaltz would tie the game up at three apiece four minutes into the second period and Jackson Kunz would help the Gamblers take the lead with his third goal of the season. The Gamblers would give the lead up with about six minutes left when Cole Burtch scored his third goal of the season for the Phantoms. With just over three minutes left in the game, it was Mason Lohrei who scored his second game-winning goal in as many games to help the Gamblers improve to 3-0 on the season. The Boston Bruins prospect also had an assist earlier in the game.

The Gamblers will play their first of three games against the Chicago Steel next Friday night in Bensenville before finishing the set at Resch Center next Saturday and the following Wednesday. Those two games will air on the NEW Radio Sports Network on 104.1 WRLU when the puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
