Brewers Clinch Playoff Spot

Entering the last day of the regular season, the Brewers had a chance to clinch a playoff spot with a win. Since the San Francisco Giants and the Philadelphia Phillies lost earlier in the day, the Brewers clinched even though they lost 5-2. The Cardinals jumped out to a big lead when they scored four runs in the third. The Brewers were able to score one run in the fourth off of a Daniel Vogelbach ground out. The Cardinals answered back right away with a Harrison Bader solo home run in the fourth. The Brewers comeback came up short with a Jacob Nottingham single that scored Orlando Arcia in the ninth. For the first time in franchise history, the Brewers are headed to the postseason for the third season in a row.

The Brewers will now face the one-seeded Dodgers on Wednesday.
