Door County Century Ride canceled

The Door County Century Ride has been canceled for 2020, marking the third 100-mile cycling event this year to meet that decision due to COVID-19 concerns.

In a press release from John Mory from Another Century LLC, the ride was canceled due to the Door County Public Health Department updating its health advisory requiring face coverings in all public areas as well as stating that in-person events and gatherings are considered high risk and should be avoided. “Taking action right now best protects the health and safety of our visiting riders, the wonderful Door County community which we ride through, while preserving this great event for better days ahead,” said Mory, in the release. Registered riders will get a full refund and will have to wait until September 12th, 2021 to participate. Approximately 3,000 riders participate in the event every year. Earlier this year, Peninsula Pacers were forced to cancel their century rides for COVID-19 concerns as well.
