The Sturgeon Bay soccer team returns to its home pitch on Thursday with a non-conference clash against Seymour on U-102.1.
The Clippers avenged their loss against Providence Academy on Monday night, earning a 3-1 victory against the Paladins in front of their home crowd on U-102.1. Both teams got off to a fast start, with Kellan Landes scoring in the game's third minute for the Paladins while Finn Stevenson responded 45 seconds later to tie the game at one. The action shifted in favor of the Clippers after the 50th minute after they drew fouls by the Paladins. Coming off their second free kick of the half, Isaiah Eliason found the loose ball in the box and put it behind Paladins goalkeeper Reuban Sauder in the 54th minute for what proved to be the game-winning tally. The Clippers resisted the Paladins' pressure and gave themselves an insurance goal in the 73rd minute when Joni Ismali settled the ball and immediately fired it on net to make it 3-1.
The Thunder has stumbled to a 2-10-2 mark with a -32 goal differential.
The Clippers are back in action on Thursday when they host Seymour for a non-conference match. Bryan Mazur and Peter Kerwin will have the call on U-102.1 beginning at 6:15 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the kickoff at 6:30 p.m.
