The Sturgeon Bay soccer team looks to continue their winning ways on Tuesday when they visit Luxemburg-Casco for a non-conference match.
The Clippers ended a two-game losing streak on Saturday with a 2-0 win over West De Pere. Joni Ismaili registered the brace with a goal in each half. Head Coach Jesus Mejia Jr. praised his team for their performance coming after two heartbreaking losses to Kiel and Providence Academy earlier in the week.
The Spartans found themselves in a deep hole on Friday night and never could dig out of it in a 4-1 loss to Oostburg. The Flying Dutchman scored its four goals in the first 30 minutes, led by Finn Wolfert, who had a goal and an assist. Elvin Mendoza salvaged a goal in the 50th minute to prevent the clean sheet. Carson Koller made seven saves in the loss.
The Spartans are back in action on Tuesday when they host Sturgeon Bay. The match will be broadcast on U-102.1 beginning at 6:15 p.m., with the pregame show followed by the first touch at 6:30.
