The Sturgeon Bay baseball team used a nine-run second inning to lead them to an 11-7 win Monday night against Lena.
The Clippers were down 1-0 when they posted their big frame, recording four hits and three walks while taking advantage of three Wildcat errors. The Wildcats chipped away at the lead to make it 9-4 in the fourth inning before Matty Hartl helped his cause with an RBI single before scoring a passed ball to make it 11-4. The Wildcats scored three more times before bowing out in the seventh with a run in and a man on.
Ethan Kratcha and Siggy Hansen each two hits and a RBI while Jack Higginbotham went 1-3 with two RBI in the Clippers win. Hartl earned the win on the mound, allowing three runs (1 ER) on three hits while striking out five across five innings.
The Clippers are back in action on Tuesday when they play Oconto in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
