Not the Tuesday the Clippers baseball team was hoping for. Sturgeon Bay dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Peshtigo, falling 6-1 and 5-4 in walk-off fashion.
Game one wasn't much of a contest. Peshtigo's Bryce Heroux was flat out dealing, holding the Clippers to just one hit over seven innings while striking out seven. Siggy Hansen took the loss but was solid himself, striking out seven over five innings.
Peshtigo also ran wild on the bases, swiping seven stolen bases on the day.

Game two was a whole different animal. Sturgeon Bay actually out-hit Peshtigo eight to seven and had a chance to steal one, but a walk-off single by Vin Paoli in the eighth ended it 5-4. Hansen was the bright spot, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a clutch double in the seventh that tied the game. Just wasn't enough in the end.
Sturgeon Bay hosts Howards Grove Saturday starting at noon.
