Clippers baseball fall short against Blazers, welcome Bulldogs Tuesday

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers could not erase the deficit they had entering their suspended game on Monday, losing to NEW Lutheran 8-3 on Monday.

They were trailing 5-3 entering the fifth inning before the Blazers scored three times on four hits including two doubles in the sixth to put the game away. Singles from Steven Prescott and Siggy Hansen along with hit by pitch absorbed by Rylan Ruenger loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh inning, but a double play ended the Clippers' threat.

Hansen registered the loss after giving up four runs (4 ER) on one hit in the opening inning that was played on April 20th.  Ethan Kratcha and Prescott each had two hits while Prescott and Drew Propsom tallied RBI.

The Clippers are back in action on Tuesday when they host Peshtigo for a pair of games beginning at 4 p.m. The Bulldogs are 6-8 on the season, which includes a doubleheader split against Gibraltar/Washington Island and a 6-5 loss to Bonduel.
